LA MOILLE - Daniel A. Geiger, 62, of LaMoille, passed away Aug. 23, 2018 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria following complications from a stroke.
According to his wishes, no services will be held. Arrangements were entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru.
Daniel was born Sept. 26, 1955 in Dixon to Donald and Darlene (Scherer) Geiger. He married Anita Schallhorn on Sept. 4, 1976 at Clarion Lutheran Church in LaMoille.
Survivors include his wife; two children, David (Janelle) Geiger of LaMoille and Heather (Greg) Sherman of Tonica; four grandchildren, Owen and Cassidy Geiger of LaMoille and Avery and Mason Sherman of Tonica; one sister, Becky (Les) Williams of Cartwright, Okla.; his father and mother-in-law, Ray and Rheta Schallhorn of LaMoille; and one brother-in-law, Dean (Mary) Schallhorn of LaMoille.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Glen Schallhorn.
Daniel was a 1973 graduate of LaMoille High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in 1975 and receiving an honorable medical discharge. He was employed at the Princeton Wal-Mart for 20 years. He loved to watch and take video of trains.
