LELAND - Dale R. Kidd, 72, of Leland passed away Jan. 1, 2020 at Central Dupage Hospital in Winfield.
Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4 at Turner Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Burial will follow at Victor Cemetery in Leland. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 4 at the funeral home.
Dale was born Aug. 31, 1947 in Moline to Margerite Kidd and was raised by his grandparents, Ruth and C.C. Kidd. He married Laurinda Keasler on Sept. 16, 1966 in Leland.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Valerie (Matt) Thomson of Reidsville, N.C., Amanda (Ron) Gruen of Lenior, N.C., Sarah (Kyle) Murphy of Sandwich and TSGT Kim Cole of Pekin; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mary (Vernon) Sondgeroth of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dale graduated from Mendota High School in 1965 and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Leland American Legion 570. He worked for Graper Sales and Service in Troy Grove and also worked for Air Products and Chemicals in LaSalle for 29 years. He enjoyed woodworking and making Christmas ornaments. He was a handy man that could fix anything.
