AMBOY - Cyril D. Ward, 68, of Amboy, died Oct. 16, 2018 at his home.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Refuge Church at Mendota Hills Campground with Pastor John Kalebaugh officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service on Saturday at the church. Funeral arrangements were handled by Mihm-Jones Funeral Home, Amboy.
Cy was born April 2, 1950 in McLeansboro to Doyle and Flora (Wilson) Ward.
Survivors include his children, Cecilia (Chris) Flowers of East Alton, Cyril Ward of Crystal Lake, Marcy (Kyle) Clark of Mendota and Whitney Ward of Dixon; six grandchildren, Jack, Tara, Kala, Brayden, Emily and Robin; and one sister, Rosemary (Rick) Pemper of Sugarland, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cy was the owner and operator of Ward’s Standard Garage in Aurora, and also was a truck driver for WEN Enterprises in Batavia prior to his retirement in 2010. He had been the pastor of Abundant Life Christian Fellowship Church in Elgin and was a member of the Refuge Church at Mendota Hills Campground in Amboy.
