NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Courtney E. Edwards, DVM, 42, of North Canton, Ohio passed away suddenly on Nov. 11, 2018 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A celebration of Courtney’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 398 Church Road, Compton with Pastor Jeff Schlesinger officiating. Memorial visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Courtney was born Feb. 13, 1976 in Mendota. She married Shawn J. Moulton.

She will live in the hearts of those who survive, her loving husband, Shawn J. Moulton; her mother, Christa Edwards; one brother, Curtis Edwards; her grandmother, Eunice Rogers; three uncles, Neal (Charlie) Rogers, Norm (Karen) Rogers and Charlie Edwards; two aunts, Cindy (Kerry) Green and Linda Edwards; and four cousins, Nathan Rogers, Aaron Rogers, Ken Edwards and Rob Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Eldred Rogers and John Edwards; her grandmother, Rita Edwards; and one uncle, Robert “Sam” Edwards.

Courtney was a devoted wife who was deeply loved by her husband. They met as students at Bradley University and were together for 21 years. Courtney received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in August of 2013. She passionately cared for animals and went above and beyond as a veterinarian. Courtney and Shawn owned and operated Compassionate Care Veterinary Clinic and were in the process of opening an affordable veterinary clinic to help those in need. She was well known in northeast Ohio in the rescue community and will be dearly missed both by the people she helped and all the animals she saved. Courtney always offered love and shelter to any animal in need.
