Local kids braved the cold water at the Mendota Pool on June 1. Although air temperatures reached the mid 80s, the public pool’s water was still icy cold. Swimmers were advised to beware of hypothermia and rest periods were given every 30 minutes that day. (Reporter photo by Jennifer Sommer)
MENDOTA - The Mendota Pool is now open for the season. Hours are 12-5 p.m. daily, and 7-9 p.m. Monday through Friday. Adult swim is 5-6 p.m. during the week. With sunny skies and scorching temperatures forecast for the coming days, the pool will be the perfect place to cool off.
