COMPTON – Compton Summer Fest will be held on Saturday, June 24 at Compton Park in Compton. The day’s events include craft vendors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., games for kids from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and family entertainment by Chicago’s Best from 1-2:30 p.m.
The Compton Fire Department will provide a food stand from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with all proceeds going toward training and equipment.
A dunk tank will feature your favorite Compton residents. Stop by Jerry's Tap starting June 1 and throw some money in the jar of the person you want to see get wet. Whoever gets the most money gets dunked first.
You can even have your friends “arrested” and put in the village jail. Put out a warrant for $5 to arrest a “felon.” They must spend 15 minutes in jail or post a bail that you set without using their own money.
A car cruise will be held from 12-4 p.m. Bring your ride and park for the day. All rides are welcome. There is a $10 entry fee.
Finally, a beer garden will be held from 6-11 p.m. The Jerry Menzel Band plays from 7-10 p.m., followed by DJ Jeff Delhotal until 11 p.m.
