LSCRTA
OGLESBY – The LaSalle County Retired Teachers Association held an executive board meeting on Aug. 28 at the Dickinson House in Oglesby.
LSCRTA discussion matters included reflections on the summer meeting at Starved Rock Visitor’s Center, final planning for LSCRTA attendees at 2017 IRTA convention in Springfield, and other unfinished business.
New Business matters included the fall teacher retirement system meeting, the fall general meeting set for Sept. 25 at 9 a.m. at Festivities Unlimited, preparation for the fall newsletter submissions to Janie Hoffmann, and goals for 2018 including Little Library post box construction and hospitality committee initiatives.
Ladies Golf Auxiliary
MENDOTA – It was great weather for golfing on Aug. 29 for the Ladies Golf Auxiliary at the Mendota Golf Club.
This week there were 13 golfers.
The Play of the Day was to throw out a hole. Hole 13 was chosen.
First place went to Judy Forney with 26, minus her handicap. Second place went to Sandy Hanson with 28, minus her handicap; and third place went to Carol Erwin and Lauren Koch who tied with 33, minus their handicap.
Lynne Bonnell won with 13 putts.
