SALISBURY, Md. - Charles Edward Haight, Jr., 85, of Salisbury, Md., formerly of Earlville, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2019.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church, 31353 Mount Hermon Road, Salisbury, MD 21804. Holloway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Chuck was born Feb. 23, 1934 in Mendota to Lois (Rogers) and Charles Haight, Sr. He married Cora Elizabeth Causey in 1957.
Survivors include his wife of Salisbury, Md.; one son, Charles (Karen Tobias) Edward Haight, III of Poughquag, N.Y.; one grandson, Charles Edward Haight, IV of Poughquag, N.Y.; and one sister, Sandra (Stan) Yenrich of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Marie Nelson and one brother, James K. Haight.
Chuck was born and raised in Earlville. At the age of 21, he joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Chincoteague, Va. Soon after he moved, he met his wife at a roller rink in Salisbury, Md. Professionally, he worked many years as a carpenter for the family business, Larry J. Causey & Sons. In his free time, he enjoyed shooting trap and attending the annual Grand American Trap Shoot in Dayton, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church.
