DIXON – Charles D. Becker, 89, of Heritage Square, Dixon passed away Aug. 17, 2017 at Serenity House in Oregon.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Sublette with Rev. Richard Kramer officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Sublette. Cremation rites have been accorded. Schwarz Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.
Charles was born June 2, 1928 in Sublette to Charles M. and Anna P. (Lauer) Becker. He married Paula Cyr in Joliet on May 20, 1970. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sisters, Sally Pry of Schaumburg and Monica Berkeley of Franklin Grove, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and one sister, Dolores Weber.
Charles graduated from Amboy High School in 1947 and attended Sacred Heart College in Shelby, Ohio. He and Paula were missionaries in the South Sea Islands for many years. He worked in men’s clothing sales until his retirement. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and the Knights of Columbus, Dixon.
