MENDOTA – Catherine C. Butler, 94, of Mendota, passed away March 8, 2023 at OSF Saint Paul Medical Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 11 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Jeff Windy officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 a.m. at Wasmer Funeral Home.

Catherine was born April 30, 1928, in Sublette, to Francis and Laurie (Schneider) Boyle. She graduated from Mendota High School in 1946. Catherine was married to Wayne Butler on Feb. 14, 1951, in Princeton.

Survivors include her son, Roger (Robin) Butler of Geneva; her daughter, Sandy (Dennis) Schroeder of Ladd; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1958, son Robert in 1959, parents, a grandson Brian Butler at birth, two brothers, Jack Boyle and Ed Boyle, and a sister, Ellen Carr.

During her work career, she was a clerk at the dime store, assembly at the egg plant, then was with the Mendota Lutheran Home for 20 years in housekeeping, retiring in 1993. She was a devoted member of Holy Cross Church.
