LA SALLE - Director Scot Smigel will hold auditions for the first show of Stage 212’s 50th Anniversary season, “The 39 Steps,” at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17 and 18 at the theater, 700 First St. in LaSalle.
“The 39 Steps,” which will be the winter 2018 production, is a fast-paced, often hilariously irreverent mystery thriller adapted by Patrick Barlow from Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film.
Smigel will cast one man able to play age 30 to 40 and one woman able to play 25 to 35, who will play three separate roles. He will also cast two actors who will play 150 different roles between them. These actors must be extremely versatile, creative, and playful with excellent verbal and physical comic timing. Perusal scripts are available by contacting the Stage 212 ticket office at (815) 224-3025. Familiarity with the script is not required to audition. For more information, visit www.stage212.org.
“The 39 Steps” will be presented Feb. 16-18 and 23-25.
Stage 212 auditions are open to all regardless of prior theatrical experience.
