LA SALLE - Director Tyler Reviglio has announced audition dates for Stage 212’s off-season production, “Reefer Madness, the Musical.” Try outs for this musical adaptation of the 1936 cult classic movie by Kevin Murphy and Dan Studney will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, June 10 and 11 at the theater, 700 First St., LaSalle.
Reviglio will cast four men in principal roles, three women in principal roles, one woman in a featured role, and 10 to 15 men and women for the ensemble. Those auditioning must be 18 or older by Sept. 15. Those who are 17 but will turn 18 before performances must have a legal guardian’s consent to audition.
All auditioners must come prepared with a 30-60 second a capella musical selection and be prepared to learn and perform a dance piece. For those interested, there will be an opportunity to perform a cold reading from the script. Auditioners should also come prepared with all conflicts and availability.
“Reefer Madness, the Musical” will be presented Sept. 15-17. Stage 212 auditions are open to all regardless of prior theatrical experience.
