Mendota Lutheran Home employees, Connie Buchanan, Life Enrichment Director, left, and Katie Brown, Restorative and Infectious Control Nurse, receive the Caroline Schaller Award, presented by Leonard Schaller, son of Caroline Schaller, Dec. 7. The Caroline Schaller Award was established by the Schaller family in 2000 to recognize the excellent care provided by the employees of the Mendota Lutheran Home. Honorees are chosen based on their dedication and continued commitment to providing the very best care to the residents of the Mendota Lutheran Home. Recipients are nominated by their co-workers and final selection is made by the Lutheran Home board of directors. Each recipient receives a financial award from a fund established by the family of Caroline Schaller. Mrs. Schaller was a long -time resident of the Mendota Lutheran Home.
