The answer to last week’s quiz is: The loganberry is a hybrid of the North American blackberry and the European raspberry. The fruit resembles the blackberry but is dark red in color. Loganberries were an accident of berry breeding in 1881 by a Santa Cruz, Calif. judge and horticulturist, James Harvey Logan for whom they are named.
