PRINCETON – 4-H shines in preparing youth to speak confidently. The Illinois State 4-H Public Presentation Contest, held on June 8 allowed youth to highlight their exceptional presentation abilities in a supportive environment.
Bureau County 4-H was well represented during the State Contest, held at Richland Community College in Decatur. Haven Pierson, member of Western Winning Wonders, was a round winner for her Illustrated Speech on lab-grown meat. Locally, Haven received the Cattleman’s Award and the Pork Producers Award, in addition to selection for state.
Bureau County was represented at the State level by Pierson (Illustrated and Original Works), Delaney Mallery (Original Works), and Jose Edlefson (Formal Speech).
