Bureau County youth excels at 4-H State Public Speaking Contest


OGLESBY – 4-H shines in preparing youth to speak confidently. The Illinois State 4-H Public Presentation Contest, held on Saturday, June 9 allowed youth to highlight their exceptional presentation abilities in a supportive environment.

Bureau County 4-H was well represented during the State Contest, held at Richland Community College in Decatur. Haven Pierson, member of Western Winning Wonders, received an award of Excellence for her Illustrated Speech on pork and its usage in the medical field. 

The 2018 Contest was sponsored by Compeer Financial, in association with the Illinois 4-H Foundation.
