BUREAU COUNTY - Twenty-seven Bureau County families in need of assistance received a complete Easter meal and treats for children thanks to the community service efforts of 4-H Federation, with the support of Bureau County 4-H community clubs.

“After the need to pivot to a modified donation effort last year in light of the pandemic, we were thrilled to be able to return to our full-fledged contributions,” said Danielle Gapinski, Bureau County 4-H & Youth Development Program Coordinator.

4-H Federation is a group of 4-H members from 8-12th grade whose primary purpose is to assist the University of Illinois Extension’s 4-H staff with planning and carrying out events and activities throughout the county. They serve as mentors to younger members and help make the county program stronger. The youth members serve as communication links between 4-H community clubs and the Extension staff.
