Bowling season ends for MHS


MOLINE – Mendota’s girls’ bowling season came to a close at the Moline Regional on Feb. 2.

Theran Schmitt had the high series for the Lady Trojans with a 955. She rolled games of 166, 185, 139, 171, 125 and 169. Dria Kuntz was just 10 pins back with a 945. Her individual games were 186, 143, 148, 171, 140 and 157. Brooke Lee also topped a 900 series with a 907. She posted scores of 146, 165, 164, 150, 160 and 122.

Cora Stewart finished with a 727 series with game totals of 112, 146, 143, 170 and 156. Also competing for Mendota were Marissa Martin (158, 110, 156, 139 – 563) and Emma Boatman (128, 130, 140 – 398).

The individual regional champion was Heather Motley of Rock Island with a 1271 series.

The top four schools in the team standings that qualified for the sectional include Sterling (5473), Galesburg (5452), Rock Island (5410) and LaSalle-Peru (5401). Mendota had a team total of 4495.
