MENDOTA - Christmas for some can be a time when it is hard to celebrate because of life circumstances. In responding to this, the Mendota Ministerial Association will offer a “Service of Wholeness and Healing” called “Blue Christmas.”
This event will take place at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17 at First United Methodist Church of Mendota. The service is designed for those who are dealing with the death of a loved one or facing life after divorce or separation, coping with the loss of a job, living with cancer or some other disease that puts a question mark over the future, or any type of difficult circumstance that makes holiday celebrations difficult.
Sometimes in life, people need comfort before any celebration can take place. Those looking for comfort, hope, wholeness and renewal are invited to join the Ministerial Association pastors for a time of healing and quiet reflection. For those who do not personally have a spiritual need, this service is an opportunity to encourage and help other members of our community.
This service is open to all members of the community regardless of personal beliefs.
First United Methodist Church is located at 100 East 6th St. in Mendota. For more information, visit www.firstumcmendota.org or call (815) 538-5S87.
