MENDOTA – The American Red Cross held a blood drive on Tuesday, July 2 at the Mendota Moose Family Center. The goal for the day was 56 and there were 54 good units collected. Brooke Carroll reached the one gallon mark, Kevin Sporleder reached the four gallon mark and Katie Fromherz reached five gallons. Angelique Baker was a first-time donor.
Several volunteers helped the day run smoothly. They were Paddy Schwemlein, Deb Mahaffey, Margy Frey, Peg Mathesius-Cerveny, Sandra Gann, Sandy Schroeder, Kristi Carroll and Lori Simonton. Mendota Optimist Club sponsored the BBQ, egg salad sandwiches and all the extras. Mendota Subway once again donated sandwiches for the donor luncheon. Desserts were provided by Paddy Schwemlein, Marlene Simonton, Deb Mahaffey, Kristi Carroll and Lori Simonton.
