JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - Betty (Lohman) Riley, 91, of Jacksonville, N.C., formerly of Mendota, died July 13, 2017 at home.
Cremation rites were accorded. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 21 at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Arrangements were handled by the Jones Funeral Home & Crematory in Jacksonville.
Betty was born Nov. 4, 1925 in Terre Haute, Ind. to Dana and Edna Lohman. She married David Benjamin Riley. He preceded her in death in 2004 after 49 years of marriage.
Survivors include two sons, James Riley of Jacksonville, N.C. and David Riley of Oswego; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her niece, Karen Clark of Arizona; and Wes and Ramona Noble of Mendota.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Betty graduated from nursing school in 1948 as a registered nurse. She was employed at Mendota Community Hospital for a time in the 1960s. She was a long time member of the Eastern Star.
