ST. CHARLES - Betty Lou Walters, 76, of St. Charles for the past 20 years, formerly of LaMoille, passed away Nov. 21, 2019 at Clare Oaks in Bartlett.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25 at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 South Third St., St. Charles. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at Hosanna! Lutheran Church, 36W925 Red Gate Road, St. Charles. Interment will follow at Clarion Cemetery, LaMoille.
Betty was born Nov. 15, 1943 in Princeton to Harold and Margaret (Ehlers) Stuepfert. She married William Grant Walters on Nov. 26, 1961 in LaMoille.
Survivors include her loving husband; three daughters, Bonnie (Joseph) Kain, Becky (Dennis) Abella and Brenda (David) Bergeson; five grandchildren, Bridgette (Aaron) Treske, Grant and Lily Abella, Sarah Kain and Benjamin Bergeson; one great-grandson, Elijah Treske; and one sister, Beverly Faber.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ardell Stuepfert.
Betty graduated from LaMoille High School and after marrying William, raised her three daughters in LaMoille. She had a successful 20-plus year career at Citizens Bank in Princeton. Throughout her life she loved to sew, read inspirational works, travel and spend time with her family. Church and worship were important to her. She was an active member of Clarion Lutheran Church in LaMoille for more then 50 years and after moving to St. Charles in 2000, she became an active member of Hosanna! Lutheran Church, where she was part of Stephen Ministry and Bible study groups.
