Austin P.L. Sessler

MENDOTA – Austin P.L. Sessler, 24, of Mendota, left this world Nov. 22, 2022.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wasmer Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Wasmer Funeral Home is privileged to assist the family.
He was born March 20, 1998, in Mendota, on a beautiful spring day, to Elizabeth (Liz) Hertz and Justin P.L. Sessler.
He is survived by his loving parents, Elizabeth M. Hertz and Justin P.L. Sessler; maternal grandmother, Lavern Hertz; paternal grandparents, Gary and Pat Baird Sessler; his treasured little brother, Finn Sessler; maternal uncles, Doug and Dave Hertz; and paternal aunt, Amber D. Sessler.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joe Hertz; aunt, Staci Sessler and her daughter, Skye; and great uncle John Verklan Jr.
Austin was a reserved young man, with a generous, giving heart, and a kind soul. He loved animals, especially his cat, Libby; his family, and the world around him. Always willing to help a friend, and readily turning strangers into friends, he was generous with his time, friendship and love, always looking out for others, willing to help in any way, which prompted him three years ago to join the EV Wizard Warriors Six Flags Coaster Challenge Team with his Grandpa Gary, Aunt Amber, ‘Aunt’ Barb, and brother, Finn, to raise funds for Special Olympics, to honor his cousin, Storm Hannen.
He will be so grievously missed by his family and create a huge void in the life of his personal joy—his little brother, Finn, on whom he doted. Austin was his most ardent fan through baseball and soccer games and Taekwon do. They could often be seen around town together, doing yardwork to help others, and enjoying Austin’s latest passion, skateboarding, which he was teaching Finn. They made an awesome online team playing video games together. Austin enjoyed movies, anime, off-beat TV shows, and also had a love of music, being an avid drummer. He was a member of the MHS Class of 2016.
