COMPTON – Mr. and Mrs. Clifford (Verna) Aughenbaugh will celebrate their 71st wedding anniversary on July 20.
Clifford and the former Verna Hauge were married on July 20, 1946 in the Compton Methodist Church. Attendants were her sister Viola (Hauge) Bradley, now of Eau Claire, Wis. and James Corwin, deceased.
They are the parents of Douglas (Sue) Aughenbaugh, Jerry (Marcia) Aughenbaugh, both of Mendota; Linda (Terry-deceased) Hoffman of Sorrento, Fla.; and David (Jan) Aughenbaugh of Planet City, Fla. The couple also has nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Clifford was employed by the Del Monte Can Plant in Rochelle for 32 years before retiring in 1986. They are members of Compton Methodist Church, Mendota Elks Club, Mendota Moose Lodge, and the Mendota VFW. Clifford is also a United States Army Veteran of World War II.
