MENDOTA - The Sheep Shed is a program held for the public once a month at First United Methodist Church of Mendota. The project was started last October and since then has featured open mike music events.
Plans are now in the works for a new, ambitious dinner theater project that will take place on Friday, Feb. 23 and feature three skits: The Dead Parrot Skit, The Wizzo Chocolate Factory, and The Last Judgement. In addition, special music will be performed by a number of local artists.
Auditions will be held to fill various parts in the skits. Anyone wishing to be considered for one of these parts is asked to call the church at (815) 538-5587 and provide their contact information. The auditions will be conducted by appointment.
The menu for the dinner theater will feature fried or gourmet baked fish. Tickets must be obtained prior to the event; no tickets will be issued at the door. The tickets are only used to determine how much food to prepare. Donations will be accepted for the event with any profit used for various charity needs within the community.
