SUBLETTE - Anna Elizabeth “Betty” Prendergast, 99, of Sublette died Jan. 18, 2022 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehab.

A family Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, Jan. 21 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sublette. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Sublette. A public memorial Mass and celebration of life will be held later in the year. Arrangements were handled by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy.

Betty was born March 31, 1922 in Troy Grove Township, LaSalle County to Theodore and Elizabeth (Roetzel) Sondgeroth. She married Arthur Prendergast on June 19, 1940 in Sublette. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1986.

Survivors include her children, Judy (David Setchell) Marschang of Sublette, Sheila (Michael) Brady of Amboy, Tom (Julie Deutsch) Prendergast of Dixon and Steve (Cheryl) Prendergast of Dixon; 11 grandchildren, Mike (Lynn) Wagner, Debi (Chad) Bromenschenkel, Doug (Sarah) Marschang, Brenda (Pete) Prevenas, Nathan Berk, Andrea Berk, Timothy (Carolina Vidal) Prendergast, Bridget (Clint Reed) Prendergast, Alicia (Tyler) Price, Jason Prendergast and Sarah (Alex) Hoffmann; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn Kritz of Pewaukee, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Janet Wagner; a grandson, Jeff Marschang; and -five sisters, Hattie Rapp, Cora Jones, Helen Leiser, Florence Sondgeroth and Dolores Setchell.

Betty was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sublette, the St. Anne Sodality, the Idle While Card Club for over 60 years and had been a 4H leader. She was a seamstress and loved to bake. She also loved hosting her family for holidays.
