Students all over the county are participating in the Ag in the Classroom program. In September, Ag Literacy Coordinator, Cara Kniss visited classrooms ranging from PreK-5th grade to teach lessons about apples. Students learned the life cycle of the apple trees and the parts of an apple. Students were even able to taste test apples. Kniss continued throughout October teaching about pumpkins, as Illinois is the number one state in the United States for growing pumpkins. (Photo contributed)
