PRINCETON - University of Illinois Extension - Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, Putnam Unit and the Bureau County Farm Bureau will host an Agricultural Energy Program on Monday, March 4 beginning at 7 p.m. The event will take place at the Bureau County Extension Office, 850 Thompson St., Princeton.
The program will focus on introducing wind and solar energy into a rural environment. Topics of discussion include types of solar farms and applications, types of wind turbines and applications, overview of the renewable energy projects for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, economic benefits, legal aspects and landowner rights.
The presenters for the evening will include Jay Solomon - University of Illinois Extension Energy and Environmental Stewardship Educator; Garrett Thalgott - Attorney, Illinois Farm Bureau; Mohamed Attalla - Executive Director of Facilities & Services, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Keith Bolin - Project Developer, Geronimo Energy; and Andy Seay - Solarize Outreach Coordinator, StraightUp Solar.
