PRINCETON – The Bureau County Farm Bureau recently announced the winners of the 5th Annual Ag Appreciation Placemat Design Contest for the National Ag Week’s Salute to Ag Breakfast. Third grade students from around the county were asked to create placemats following the theme “Illinois Agriculture- Past, Present and Future.”
This year, the Farm Bureau collected 193 entries from all over the county. Two prizes were awarded for Best of Show and Best Use of Theme. Each of the winners, their parents and their teacher were invited to be recognized at the breakfast, held at The Barn just outside of Princeton, March 15.
Best of Show went to Tristan Borovicka of Jefferson Elementary. Best Use of Theme went to Remie Marshall of Bureau Valley South.
