OGLESBY - Anyone employed as a school nutrition professional is eligible to attend and receive continuing education hours at the University of Illinois Extension, ABC’s of School Nutrition Summer Learning Institute. Institute topics will include food handler training (receive your certificate, good for three years), portioning, merchandising and food presentation including a special program on bento boxes, and how to reduce food waste in school cafeterias. Earn six-credit hours that count toward the 2019/2020 school year.
The ABC’s of School Nutrition Summer Learning Institute is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 2 at Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby, room CTC-124 from 9-3:30 p.m. Class size is limited to 30 persons. The Summer Learning Institute is free and lunch will be included.
