LA SALLE COUNTY - The University of Illinois Extension Bureau, LaSalle and Marshall-Putnam 4-H is honoring the seniors of 2020. This week, they are highlighting Meghan Penoyer, a 4-H member of the Fox River Warriors and LaSalle County Federation.
Meghan’s favorite 4-H projects over the years have been Rabbitry and Dog Obedience. While in 4-H, she learned that no matter a person’s social skills and openness to new things, everyone belongs and has the potential to be a strong leader.
When asked, Meghan said the 2019 4-H Fair was her favorite 4-H memory. Her advice to younger 4-H members, “You have to be persistent to actually see results. Nothing can just change overnight, but you can make it happen over time.”
Meghan plans to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Although Meghan wished to thank all 4-H volunteers, she noted, “Mary Jane Spinazola, Toni Pienta and Karen Pillion are my big three. Thank you for always being my stability through my spontaneous life.”
