PRINCETON – University of Illinois Extension 4-H will hold a free macramé workshop for youth ages 8-18 on Monday, Oct. 12. The workshop will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Extension office, 850 Thompson St., Princeton. All materials will be provided. Participants will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Learn a brief history of macramé and create a beginner level piece utilizing the twine method. Participants will select their own color yarn(s) to create a decorative hanging unique to them. While the workshop is open to both 4-H and non-members, those choosing to participate in the 4-H program may enter this project in the 4-H Fair as a Visual Arts: Heritage Arts project.
